设计的Core 2 Extreme QX9770系列处理器，与其搭配的则是最新X48芯片组。华硕、技嘉等主板厂商相继放出了计划推出基于X48芯片设计主板的消息，但最终产品却迟迟没有与消费者见面。截至到今日，华硕终于领先业界推出了首款基于X48芯片设计的P5E3 Premium主板。从型号上来看，它是X38系列主板的延续。
